Tasks

You will be the senior commercial lead, responsible for all cost management and quantity surveying functions for this data centre build. You will provide strategic cost advice, manage budgets, lead procurement, and ensure financial control from pre-construction through to final account. -Risk & Value Management: Support quantitative risk analysis (QRA) workshops and value engineering exercises to optimise project value. -Final Account: Lead the compilation, negotiation, and agreement of the project's final account. -Stakeholder Management: Act as the key commercial interface between the client, project managers, designers, and contractors. -Procurement & Contract Negotiation: Lead the procurement process for main contractors and key packages, including tender analysis, negotiation, and final agreement of GMP/Lump Sum contracts. -Cost Control & Reporting: Lead all project cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and monthly financial reporting to senior client stakeholders. -Estimating & Benchmarking: Develop detailed cost plans and estimates, validating them against local market rates and global data centre benchmarks. -Change Management: Manage the end-to-end change control process, commercially evaluating and negotiating variations to ensure minimal budget impact.

What You Bring

This is a high-visibility role requiring a seasoned cost management professional to act as the client's commercial representative on a significant and complex project. -An expert negotiator and communicator, confident in leading commercial discussions at a senior level. -Strong knowledge of international construction standards and best practices. -Proven track record on large-scale, complex construction programmes; international project experience is a distinct advantage. -A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. -Direct experience in data centre construction is highly desirable. -Professional membership (MRICS or equivalent) is essential. -10-15+ years of post-qualification experience in a client-focused Cost Management / Quantity Surveying role.
