Overview
Conduct EMT studies, PSCAD modeling, and technical analysis for power systems.

Tasks
-Develop/tune PSCAD models, perform PSCAD/PSSE model benchmarking analysis -Timely completion of projects assigned while meeting project quality and project budget -Stay up to date with relevant industry standards such as IEEE, NERC, CIGRE -Contribute to the team’s research and innovative activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to enhance team’s performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvements -Produce and/or review technical reports and presentations for external Customers -Develop or modify automation scripts to enhance the efficiency, speed and accuracy of technical simulations -Perform Electro-magnetic Transient (EMT) Studies such as sub synchronous resonance (SSR), control interaction (SSCI), ferro-resonance, temporary overvoltage (TOV), switching overvoltage (SOV), transient recovery voltage (TRV), harmonic, energization etc. -Cultivate customer relationships, technical advisory support for generations, and large load interconnections connecting to transmission system

What You Bring
-Hands on experience performing EMT, SSR studies -Active PE License -Knowledge of other Electricity Markets (such as PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISONE) planning & interconnection practices -Knowledge of inverter-based resources (Wind, Solar, Battery Storage) and associated control -Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for automation and data analysis -Strong organizational, interpersonal (written & verbal) skills, problem solving and analytical skills -Excellent oral and written communications skills in English -Ability to work in a dynamic team environment -Doctorate degree with emphasis on Electric Power Systems -In-depth understanding of fundamentals of electric power systems and renewable energy, small-signal and large-signal control stability -Hands-on experience with PSCAD software -Demonstrable hands-on experience with one or more power system analysis software packages including PSS/E, DigSilent Power Factory, TSAT, TARA, ASPEN -Master’s degree in electrical engineering with emphasis in Power System and Control -Knowledge of ERCOT Electricity Market planning & interconnection practices
