Experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator

Overview

Fabricate sheet metal parts using cutting, bending, welding per blueprints and specs.

Tasks

-Consults blueprints & work orders to safely produce sheet metal components. -Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs. -Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments and maintenance. -Maintains clean and orderly work space. -Selects appropriate material for each job based on specifications. -Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions. -Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions. -Performs assigned work on assembly lines as required.

What You Bring

-Welding certificate from a recognized post secondary institute preferred -Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously -Basic knowledge of turret punch laser combo & press brake -Must be mechanically inclined and be able to understand how machines work and make adjustments when needed -Previous experience in a custom sheet metal environment -Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team -Previous Tig welding experience an asset -Excellent knowledge of hand tools, calipers and measuring tapes -Able to read, interpret shop drawings to construct products with care and precision -Proactive approach, results oriented with high attention to fine details -Able and willing to obtain (in-house trained) forklift certification -Strong work ethic and willingness to be a team-player
