Tasks

-Assist in developing BMS (Building Management System) control strategies and sequences of operation. -Support in preparing material submittals and ensuring alignment with project specifications. -Develop designs for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems based on project requirements. -Energy Efficiency & Sustainability – Implementing green building strategies and ESTIDAMA/LEED compliance. -Confirm firefighting pump and tank capacities per DCD regulations. -Assist in energy efficiency studies and ESCO project design support. -Manage drafting teams assigned for each project -Prepare and modify shop drawings in coordination with the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. -Perform cooling load calculations, ventilation sizing, and smoke management system calculations. -Support the MEP and construction managers by addressing design-related issues. -Conduct pipe sizing for plumbing, LPG, drainage, and firefighting systems. -Coordinate with MEP site teams for design-related clarifications. -Specification & BOQ Preparation – Writing technical specifications and preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ). -Collaborate with electrical and ELV engineers to ensure proper integration of control systems. -Prepare technical reports and documentation as required. -MEP Coordination – Collaborating with electrical and structural teams for integrated system design. -Ensure all designs comply with ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, ADDC, DEWA, ADM, DCD, and ESTIDAMA standards. -Plumbing & Drainage Design – Designing water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems per UPC, IPC, and local regulations.

What You Bring

-Ductwork & Piping Design – Knowledge of air distribution, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing. -UAE experience is a must, with knowledge of local authority approvals and standards. -Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. -Proficiency in HAP, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP. -Minimum 3 years of experience in a consultancy firm is required. -Authority Approvals & Compliance – Awareness of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, ADM, ADDC, and DEWA requirements. -Load Calculations & System Sizing – Proficiency in ASHRAE, CIBSE, and SMACNA standards for cooling and ventilation calculations. -Fire Protection System Design – Knowledge of NFPA standards for sprinkler, FM-200, and fire suppression systems. -Knowledge of Elite and CFD analysis tools is a plus. -HVAC System Design – Expertise in designing chilled water, DX, VRF, and ventilation systems. -Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design for MEP projects. -CEM, CEA, CMVP, LEED AP, PQP, ESTIDAMA, ASHRAE, or other relevant certification is a plus.. -Software Proficiency – Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Elite, Pipe Flow Expert, and CFD tools.
