The Role

Overview

Manages store inventory, procurement, and staff for NYSEG facilities.

Tasks

-Responsible for issuing emergency purchase orders. -Responsible for maintaining necessary storeroom records and reports. -Responsible for receipt, care disbursement and inventories of all storeroom materials and supplies. -Assists in making periodic ratings of employees assisting him. -Directs the work of others assisting him.

What You Bring

-Must have established reputation of being trustworthy when in possession of confidential information. -Be agile -Must be familiar with Company's Safety Rules, Prone Pressure method of Resuscitation and able to render practical First Aid. -Normal health, physique and use of senses as indicated by passing the required physical examination given by a Company physician, including color perception. -Must be able to qualify for automobile operator's license. -Should have general knowledge of construction standards, purchasing policies and stores accounting methods. -Technical Skills -Should have at least five years’ experience in stores work or its equivalent. -Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methods of procedure are available. Equivalent to four years of high school; or two years of high school plus two years apprenticeship or trade school training; or common school graduate plus four years apprenticeship or trade school training. -Must be able to meet public in pleasant, tactful manner. -Must be especially neat and orderly in work. -Must be willing to work extra and/or irregular hours as required. -Must have established reputation for being strictly honest in the custody of money or property.
