The Role

Overview

Load/unload roofing materials on rooftops, assist driver, ensure safety.

Tasks

-Deliver excellent customer service in a courteous and timely manner. -Secure materials properly onto the delivery truck. -Prioritize safety by following proper practices and using required safety equipment. -Help customers load materials onto their vehicles. -Assist in loading and unloading materials by forklift or hand. -Distribute materials evenly across the rooftop. -Count and verify that all orders are correctly loaded onto outgoing trucks. -Assist the driver in backing up the truck and inspect the delivery site for safety. -Ensure safe and accurate delivery of roofing materials to the jobsite. -Operate a conveyor or crane (if certified) to transport materials to the rooftop. -Follow and adhere to OSHA safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE such as work boots, gloves, harnesses, and ensuring safe practices with ladders and equipment -While at the branch, assist with yard tasks such as material relocation, cleaning, and organizing.

What You Bring

-Forklift certified -Ability to work on sloped roofs of various pitch and height -Successfully complete pre-employment drug testing (where applicable) and background verification before employment is finalized -Ability to lift 50–100 lbs. properly and repeatedly on a day-to-day basis -Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a harness, while loading roofs, in accordance with the company’s roof loading safety policy. -Prior experience in distribution, roofing, building products, or related industry -Verbal and written communication skills in English to collaborate with team members and understand job-related documents -Knowledge of proper use of conveyor and other loading machinery -Be knowledgeable about all company products and services. -Experience and interest in physically demanding, labor-intensive work -High school diploma or general education degree (GED) -Capable of following verbal instructions to complete tasks efficiently and safely -Spanish bilingual proficiency -Possess a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from work -Basic math skills for performing inventory counts -Ability to read and interpret work orders and shipping orders -Eligible to work in the U.S. without restrictions
