The Role

Overview

Assist shift engineer to ensure safe, efficient plant operations and lead the team off-hours.

Tasks

-To assist Shift Charge Engineer to coordinate activities and ensure safety procedures in accordance with the permit-to-work system such that works can be carried out safely and efficiently -To monitor and take corrective measures to optimise Plant performance. -To assist Shift Charge Engineer to manage the shift group to optimise plant performance within the agencies regulations and compliance requisite. -To be responsible for the PTWs issued during the shift and ensure proper hand-over of shift regarding works to be followed up, outstanding PTWs, the isolation and normalisation of equipment. -Supervise and oversee maintenance activities that are carried out by contractors. -To be responsible for personnel matters of his staff such as leave attendance, conduct, discipline and provide counselling -To provide in-depth training and operational knowledge to the subordinates in line with the plant’s succession planning. -To provide supervision, leadership and build a harmonious, committed and motivated team, working cooperatively with management in pursuit of organizational goals. -To be in charge of the whole plant including security, weighbridge, refuse reception and transportation of ash and scrap after office hours. -To bid and optimise sale of energy to Energy Market and ensure compliance power generation as determine by Energy Market Company. -To assist in the formulation and preparation of operating procedures for operations, maintenance works, equipment testing, plant emergencies and optimisation of the plant’s performance. -Ensure contractor compliance to in-house rules and HSE protocol. Ensure adequate supervision is provided and jobs are carried out safely. -Liaise with contractors on matters relating to maintenance works. -To ensure safe, efficient and smooth operation of the plant equipment and machinery so as to achieve the plant objectives. -To provide leadership and build a harmonious, committed and motivated team, working cooperatively with management in pursuit of organizational goals. -To liaise with EMA for timely synchronising and desynchronising of Generator. -To attend to Plant emergencies and make critical decisions to initiate where and when necessary for safe shutdown of plant equipment. -To conduct subordinates performance reviews to determine competency, knowledge and contributions of shift personnel. -To provide support to BCP, IQC, R & D, ISO, external and internal audit and any other activities.

What You Bring

-This is a 2 years contract position. -Have a safety mindset and participate actively in safety initiatives and events -Able to commit to emergency activation need beyond normal working hours. -Meticulous with good interpersonal and communication skills -Working knowledge of the principles and mechanics of plant equipment is essential -An interest in process or Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Plant operations. Must be able to get accustomed to WTE environment -Diploma in Engineering or equivalent -5 years working experience in Industrial/Process Plant
