Boom Operator

Overview

Operate boom crane, transport and unload building materials, requiring CDL and certifications.

Tasks

-Operate forklift in a safe manner with proper safety equipment -Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, making repairs as necessary -Operate boom to lift and move building materials from ground storage areas and trucks to top of building -Attend safety meetings as required -Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage. -Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.

What You Bring

-Ability to function in a dynamic warehouse environment including order fulfillment -MUST have Articulated Boom Crane or Knuckle Boom Certification -Possess excellent interpersonal skills for positive relationships with both customers and colleagues -Frequent lifting and moving of material up to 80 pounds -NCCCO certified -CDL Class A or B license with Hazmat Endorsement -At least 2+ years Class A or B experience -Prior experience in building materials a plus -Warehouse and truck mounted forklift experience -Observes and understands all safety practices and procedures -OSHA 10
