Tasks

-Exercise sound judgment to make decisions and resolve complex issues across product lifecycle management, technology, and/or engineering domains. -Oversee and manage DIT product related issues, smooth working of repair cell, specialized site support and long-term strategy development. -Responsible for obsolescence management, second sourcing and PCB re-spin as and when required including any impact due to NPI or PFAS initiatives. -Work closely with After Sales and Service to create the operating models and processes for spare parts and support. -Responsible for design, development and V&V of any new Valve VBE and VSM hardware and firmware features in addition to lifecycle management. -Implementing Software Patch Management process for the HVDC controls. -Keep up to date with the trends in the market and customer feedback. -Create and maintain the budget for the function. -Support team managers in setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and conflict management. -Lead cultural transformation and embed values driven practices within the function. Oversee processes and tools to handle revisions and release lifecycle of components, software, Firmware etc. Build a technical governance and effective forum of reporting project related issues and improvements to be included in the product portfolio including the interface to Change Review boards and similar. -Synthesize input from multiple internal sources and selectively leverages external insights—even beyond their immediate function—to inform decisions and shape recommendations. -Communicate findings and proposals effectively, ensuring decisions are well-supported and aligned with broader organizational goals. -Collect and analyse information on performance of the Control and Protection and Valve product. -Use data to identify development needs and measure training effectiveness. -Build and develop the skills and competencies needed to maintain the Control and Protection System including Patch Management, Platform Software, Tools, Firmware, low voltage electronics for the valve and controls and the Valve Product. Work closely with senior leadership to align people development with business strategy -Establishing and implementing processes and tools to maintain and develop version handling and releases via the DevOps team. -Drive Supply Chain Management active involvement maintaining the Control and Protection and Valve system. -Demonstrate creativity and initiative by proposing innovative solutions beyond established parameters or standard procedures. Drive and promote a learning culture within the team that supports Continuous Improvement, Lean and Innovation depending on the nature of the need. -Evaluate the quality and reliability of information provided, asking insightful and targeted questions to stakeholders to clarify assumptions and uncover deeper context.

What You Bring

-Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) -Bachelor degree or above in Engineering with demonstrated track record of successfully leading engineering teams -Proven experience in HVDC Systems (15+ years) with knowledge of HVDC Control & Protection, System studies and simulation, regulatory standards like IEC, CIGRE and IEEE -Familiarity with GE processes and metrics -Capacity to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and partners -A proactive and solution-based mindset to drive innovation and identify business opportunities -Excellent written and verbal communication skills across different levels/disciplines -Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
