The Role

Overview

Assist with commercial tasks, cost control, valuations and contract admin for rail freight project.

Tasks

-Assist in the preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required. -Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change. -Assist in the preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract. -Assist in the preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation. -Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required. -To encourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team -Assist in the required contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers. -Assist in cost control / cost mitigation. -Maintain site records. -Utilise the costing system. -Assist in the preparation of project final accounts -Provide support and guidance to junior staff on commercial issues within the Project(s). -Provide assistance to site staff on commercial issues within the Project(s) -Assist in the preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules. -Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements. -Drafting of simple subcontracts -Assist in the administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.

What You Bring

-Degree qualified, A levels & HNC (construction related) -Experience within a construction/engineering or similar background -An understanding of NEC contracts desirable -Good time management & organisational skills -Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
