Overview

Provides drafting support for transportation and drainage design using MicroStation.

Tasks

-Prepare plans, profiles and detail drawings using MicroStation and OpenRoads -Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision -Maintain organized work area to allow access to project information by other team members -Occasional travel will be required -Develop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawings -Communicate effectively with project manager(s) about progress on assigned projects -Apply knowledge of roadway design requirements to continuously advance ability to provide support

What You Bring

-2-years' experience in Civil Design -Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed -Aptitude for and interest in computer technologies in the creation of roadways and other types of physical infrastructure -High school diploma or GED -Ability to work independently within a team environment -Highly motivated self-starter with initiative to learn -Post-high school training in any form of Computer-Aided drafting and design -Understand and use established company standards for drafting, including layer names, line and character styles, and drawing and filenames for sheet layout -Must be able to operate a company vehicle -Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice -Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues
