Overview

Maintain cleanliness and safety of the property through routine cleaning and upkeep tasks.

Tasks

-Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition by performing routine maintenance activities. -Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions. -Ensures that storage areas always remain locked when not in use. -Distributes resident communications to residents. -Removes all abandoned furniture, trash, boxes. Transfers to dumpster or storage area, whichever is applicable. -May shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs. -Observes condition of property throughout the community and immediately reports and/or initiates action to correct unsafe conditions. Always maintains awareness of proper safety precautions. -Assists with "make-ready" duties when requested. -Performs "trash-out" duties at vacated apartments daily. -Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. -Manages inventory of cleaning supplies. -Transfers trash and other items left outside of dumpster into dumpster. Pick-up and sweep area. Keeps dumpster/compactor doors closed on windy days. -Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc. -Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems -Physically walks the property on a frequent basis and removes litter, debris, cigarette butts and pet droppings from the grounds. -Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers. -Assists in keeping grounds neat and free of litter. -Performs heavy cleaning duties such as sweeps, mops, scrubs, sanitizes, or vacuums floors. -Dusts, cleans, and polishes fixtures, furniture, walls, and equipment.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures. -High school diploma or equivalent. -Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights. -Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours. -Communication skills. -Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules. -Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions. -Basic math skills. -High school courses in shop may be preferred for jobs involving repair work. -Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time. -Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
