Tasks

-Provides leadership to project teams and support staff. -Provides technical engineering expertise to Project Managers, engineers and/or clients to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions. -Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work. -Assists in ensuring that external client focus is top priority of the region and those systems, processes, and activities that focus on the client at all levels of the region are implemented. -Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments. -Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications. -Assists in coordinating project schedules and timely completion of projects. -Provides technical leadership in the pursuit process, including: proposal preparation, estimating project costs, contract negotiations, project quality, and project profitability. -Publishes engineering papers and/or articles. -Serves as the technical specialist on engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications. -Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to their area of expertise. -Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety. -Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work. -Serves as a coach for other Project Engineers and technical staff. -Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices. -Reviews, analyzes and resolves field and/or design issues.
