The Role

Overview

Lead pipefitting crews, ensure safe, efficient installation/maintenance of oil & gas piping.

Tasks

-Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis -Will be responsible for receiving permits to support the work being performed -Maintain and update all crew and equipment matrixes. -Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds -Manages and is responsible for safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project, more particularly for specific discipline. Understands and enforces company, jobsite specific, federal, and state safety regulations on site and addresses any concerns with Ironworker superintendent. -Monitor quality control and ensure proper installation of high-pressure and piping processes. -Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and specifications for piping systems. -Make sure that all SOP’s and BPs are followed. -Supervises and sets direction for all Foreman and Leadmen on-site to ensure best use of company resources; and adherence to all company policies and state and federal regulations. Provides formal coaching feedback to Foreman. -Mentor Foreman on the work discipline such as production costs, scope of work, quality, and safety. -Supervise and coordinates activities of piping crews within the oil and gas or maintenance industry. -Maintain records of labor and equipment production and compare it to the estimate. Communicate with the Pipefitter Superintendent concerning any cost over runs and utilization of the company resources. -The General Foreman will be accountable project construction activities and communicating the expectations to craftsman, subcontractors, and vendors. -Responsible for holding crew members and foreman accountable for company and project rules. -Ensure all work complies with API, ASME, and OSHA standards. -Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and timekeeping records. -Collaborates with welders, inspectors, and other trades to coordinate work. -Troubleshoot issues related to piping layout, material availability, or crew performance. -Responsible for conducting weekly/quarterly safety and quality audits. -Schedules equipment, materials and tools to effectively utilize all resources and to maximize production and minimize costs after becoming familiar with scope of work and site conditions. Collaborates with Pipefitter Superintendent on all scheduled activities. -Will operate office equipment of all types

What You Bring

-Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., but may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. -5-10 years of pipefitting experience in the oil and gas industry, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role. -Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus -Familiarity with hydrotesting, torquing, and flange management. -Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy -Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details -Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision and field workers -Must be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings with no elevator -Advance knowledge of the QC process as it pertains to check out process. -Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting or standing and lifting -Ability to drive cars/trucks as needed -Hearing and comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions -High school or GED required; technical training or NCCER certification preferred. -Requires strong leadership and motivational skills -Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs. Blueprint, and welding procedures. -Strong understanding of piping systems used in oil and gas facilities (e.g., carbon steel, stainless, HDPE). -Ability to use math/complete calculations -Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. -Will need to perform sedentary to heavy work -Work at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions -Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.) -Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc. -Decision making skills necessary
