The Role

Overview

Lead sustainability consulting for building decarbonisation and net-zero projects

Tasks

-Oversee tunneling methods, ground treatment strategies, risk management, and interface coordination with surrounding infrastructure and utilities. -Building life-cycle assessments (particularly operational carbon aspects). -Predictive energy assessments. -Review and approve tunnel design calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications in line with international standards and client requirements. -Lead and manage the design, engineering, and construction support for tunneling works, including bored tunnels, microtunneling, and cut-and-cover structures. -Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of tunneling capability across the business. -Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and environmental engineers to deliver integrated solutions. -Support the procurement strategy and review contractor methodologies, equipment selection, and temporary works. -Lead client and stakeholder engagement, including participation in progress meetings, technical reviews, and approvals. -Provide technical leadership across all stages of tunnel project delivery – from feasibility, conceptual and detailed design, to construction and commissioning.

What You Bring

-Have strong report writing, communication and presentation skills. -Mostadam AP/Estidama PQP. -Must have at least one of the following credentials: -The successful candidate will be educated to degree / higher degree level in relevant subject (Engineering, Sustainable Energy, Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Development etc.) and will have achieved, chartered status and / or full or fellow membership of a recognized relevant professional body. -Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and mentor junior team members, fostering growth in core competencies and professional capabilities. -Experienced in tackling multidisciplinary consultancy or service projects that cross the boundaries between the traditional engineering and other disciplines, such as IT, urban planning, and engineering. -Other credentials focused on sustainability and sustainable development. -Minimum 8-10 years’ experience across the fields of sustainability and energy in buildings, including project management and business development experience. -Experience in leading projects involving building sustainability certification appraisals (BREEAM, LEED, WELL), carbon footprints, building energy audits, carbon management services, climate change assessments, the net zero transitions (embodied or net zero operational buildings), or related services. -Possess strong carbon and net zero related expertise; a wide range of skill sets and a willingness to become involved in a broad selection of projects. -Green building certifications (LEED, WELL & ILFI). -Able to scope retrofit projects and identify potential technical solutions, including working to develop a costed decarbonization roadmap for building assets and estates. -Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes. -WELL Accredited Professional. -Knowledgeable of international regulatory frameworks, guidance and standards would be an advantage. -Experienced in line management, with responsibility for staff line management and performance management. -Excellent analytic and communication skills - we believe in the use of quality data to drive objective decision making. -Able to lead sustainability and building physics projects through the full project life cycle including analysis to support: -Be flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations. -LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with specialty (BD+C, ID+C, O+M, ND, Homes). -Have experience with emerging carbon and net zero regulations, guidance and standards. -BERDE Certified Professional. -Proven experience in business development and bid management, including responding to client RFPs and preparing comprehensive technical and commercial proposals.
