The Role

Overview

Lead and support Phase I/II environmental site assessments, remediation, and compliance.

Tasks

-Prepare site characterization reports, corrective action plans, soil management plans and site-specific health and safety plans. -Support abatement-phase construction administration. -Oversee field activities such as drilling, sampling, and remediation system installation with minimal supervision. -Provide technical support for proposals, cost estimates, and remediation planning. -Interpret environmental data and prepare technical reports, analytical data tables, plume mapping, and collaborate on GIS mapping for project documentation and regulatory submittal. -Coordinate with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients. -Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated environmental solutions. -Engage with dynamic groups such as the Community Impact and Fun Committees, Fisher Minds (ERG), and the Employee Advisory Group. -Serve as Site Safety Officer, ensuring projects comply with applicable environmental laws and health and safety standards, including any required training requirements. -Conduct compliant asbestos building inspections, quantifications, draft reporting, and project air monitoring. -Assist in developing asbestos abatement designs, specs, and renovation/demolition project documents. -Design and implement site remediation programs including soil, groundwater, and vapor mitigation. -Monitor, collect data for, and optimize ongoing remediation systems. -Coordinate effectively with laboratories for sample submission and chain-of-custody documentation. -Ensure QA/QC standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. -Perform field inspections, including sampling of soil, water, vapor, and air; well monitoring; and operation and maintenance of remediation systems. -Plan and execute Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), due diligence investigations, and environmental compliance audits in accordance with ASTM standards. -Conduct compliant materials inspections for lead paint, PCB-caulk, mold, and universal waste.

What You Bring

-Experience reading and understanding GIS mapping, contour mapping, and data driven plume mapping. -Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and distance. -Must be able to travel to various project sites. -OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour with current 8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER annual refresher. -Must be able to access and navigate construction sites and job areas. -Proven knowledge of sampling methods and environmental regulations and guide documents. -Must pass respirator medical clearance and respirator fit test. -Must be comfortable wearing project-specific level of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Tyvek suits, nitrile gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and steel toe boots. -Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in site remediation and environmental consulting. -B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field. -Excellent communication and report-writing abilities. -Ability to read plans and understand building systems (HVAC, insulation, products). -Highly adaptable and proactive in meeting deliverables and deadlines -NYSDOL certifications including Asbestos Air Monitor, Project Designer, or Mold Assessor a plus. -Willing to travel and work 10+ hour field days in peak season. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Ability to direct contractors, drillers, and other field subcontractors during field projects. -Proven ability to deliver quality work and solve problems with critical thinking and sound judgment. -Must be able to wear a respirator for required work, occasionally for extended periods of times. -You thrive in a culture that celebrates fun and fosters a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere, so you can bring the best of yourself to work every day. -Experience with remediation technologies (e.g. ISCO, SVE, bioremediation, excavation). -Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PDF; experience with ArcGIS/View, Survey123 preferred. -Must be able to work in environmental conditions including office environment, field environment, construction site environment; exposure to dust, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions when working in the field. -NYSDOL-Certified Asbestos Building Inspector strongly preferred. -Professional performance standards aligned with Fisher’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. -Knowledge of EPA and state remediation regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, NYSDEC, PADEP, etc.). -Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
