System Design Specialist - Intermediate

Hitachi Rail

The Role

Overview

Design and develop signaling system databases for CBTC projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • signaling design
  • system requirements
  • guideway data
  • signal plan
  • analysis
  • compliance

Tasks

-The Signaling Engineering team at times will also participate in system design work including: -Creates new concepts or modifies existing concepts to fulfill customer requirements. -Prepares specialized signaling design skills, covering one or more of the following: -Ensure the signaling design is implemented in accordance with applicable standards and signaling principles. -Developing system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications -Deliver the project guideway application data, signal plan, crossover coordinates, track maps, and guideway database to software groups. -Interfaces and builds strong working relationships with Software, Hardware, and IVVQ groups to ensure timely analysis and resolution of in-house and field test issues. -Promotes a safety culture where product safety is paramount. -Ensures that safety is built into the design through early identification and resolution of safety-related defects. -Performs technical/engineering tasks to define application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements. -Implements process improvement in the project to improve our delivery, cost, and quality. -Performing compliance assessments to customer requirements
