Overview
Constructs, maintains, and renovates buildings as an apprentice carpenter.

Tasks
-Contribute to and participate in the effective use of the quality-control system. -Keep a daily log of tasks and prepare a preventative maintenance schedule. -Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue. -Construct and maintain structural woodwork, shelving, flooring, tables, chairs, etc. -Set up scaffolding as needed and build stairs and other items. -Perform renovations as required and ensure an adequate supply of materials for preventative maintenance. -Lay foundations, read drawings, and calculate quantities of materials. -Assist with the delivery of other related municipal services and respond to the superintendent's direction.

What You Bring
-Be proficient in the operation, safe use, and maintenance of hand and power tools. -Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material and labour estimates -Knowledge of workplace safety, and safe lifting and handling procedures -Currently indentured into an Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter. -Two or more years of experience as a carpenter -Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance -Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools -Motivated, Hardworking, able to work long hours and Saturdays if needed -CSTS training is a prerequisite for employment. If you do not have this training, it can be made available. -Currently working in the trade
