Early‑career geologist/remediation engineer conducting site investigations, remediation design, and consulting.

Tasks

-Monitoring and oversight of site remediation and environmental construction projects; -Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. -Conducting remedy evaluation, cost estimating, and supporting remedial implementation; -Field work, site investigation and characterization, including sediment, soil, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight; -Preparation of written documents such as proposals, workplans and investigative reports; and -Assisting in the development of proposals and other business development activities. -Data analysis/visualization of site investigation data including the preparation of tables, maps, and figures using both industry-standard and cutting-edge applications; -Supporting fate and transport modeling, natural attenuation evaluations and risk assessment; -Providing contamination assessment services, such as designing and implementing sampling plans, bench scale testing, and pilot test programs;

What You Bring

-Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred) -Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) -Well installation, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance (O&M) -Experience with visualization tools (AutoCAD ArcGIS EVS) and/or groundwater flow and geochemical modeling (Modflow, MT3D, geochemical equilibrium models). (preferred) -Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required) -Regular field work and overnight travel. (required) -At least 2 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) -Demonstrated strong interest in contaminant remediation and quantitative hydrogeology. (required) -Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required) -Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required) -Experience with Microsoft Access or EQUIS. (preferred) -Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H-1B visa lottery and employment based green card sponsorship are not available for this position. -Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)

Benefits

-Minimum Salary: $62,995/year / Maximum Salary: $95,170/year (Oak Brook, Chicago, IL)
