Develop and coordinate BIM models for mechanical piping and plumbing systems
-Support prefabrication planning by providing accurate and timely shop and spool drawings. -Produce detailed spool sheets, shop drawings, and installation drawings directly from the model. -Maintain and update models throughout the project lifecycle to reflect as-built conditions. -Develop accurate and constructible 3D models of mechanical piping and plumbing systems using BIM/VDC software (Revit, AutoCAD, Fabrication CADmep, Navisworks, etc.). -Apply company standards, specifications, and best practices to all model elements. -Participate in coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors. -Work closely with the VDC, prefabrication, and field installation teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency from design through installation. -Collaborate with other trades to identify and resolve clashes, conflicts, and constructability issues through Navisworks or other clash detection tools. -Follow established BIM execution plans and contribute to process improvement initiatives. -Ensure all deliverables meet company quality control standards and project-specific requirements. -Assist in quantity take-offs, material tracking, and installation sequencing based on model data.
-Experience in prefabrication workflows and shop drawing production. -Experience with clash detection and coordination workflows using Navisworks Manage. -Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Fabrication CADmep. -Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, construction methods, and industry codes/standards. -Familiarity with Bluebeam, MS Teams, and project management software. -Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. -Knowledge of laser scanning and point cloud integration. -Ability to read and interpret mechanical/plumbing drawings, specifications, and submittals. -3+ years of experience in BIM/VDC modeling for mechanical piping and plumbing systems.
