Tasks
-Support DTO workflow templating and automation initiatives to increase project throughput and reduce errors. -Supporting collaboration with clients, project managers, and internal teams to ensure designs are aligned with project goals and timelines. -Creating 3D models and 2D drawings, including client coordination drawings and fabrication documentation. -Creating and maintain BOMs for standard product line assemblies and DTO project workflow. -Providing technical support during manufacturing and installation phases to ensure seamless project execution. -Designing and customizing mechanical solutions to meet client-specific requirements, focusing on manufacturability and compliance with industry and internal standards. -Review customer acceptance documentation for accuracy. -Ensure project deliverables are on time and indicate early when tasks are not achievable. -Facilitate communication between design and manufacturing teams across multiple sites to align processes. -Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables. -Support senior group engineers, manufacturing engineers and plant personnel to refine designs for manufacturability. -Work with manufacturing engineers to develop manufacturable design standards. -Ensure project designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, manufacturability requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.

What You Bring
-Candidates with EIT certification on the path to Professional Engineer (PE) licensure are preferred. -Exposure to sheet metal design is preferred. -Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. -BSME or equivalent required -Experience working in a design-to-order or custom engineering environment is strongly preferred. -Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI C37.20 and UL891/1558 design guidelines and NFPA70E are desirable. -Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Pro E; Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience is a plus. -Strong verbal and written communication skills. -3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in DTO or custom engineering. -Familiarity with medium voltage switchgear, utility systems, or the power industry is preferred. -Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
