The Role

Overview

Design and manage electrical/control systems and automation projects for manufacturing facilities.

Tasks

-Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues in manufacturing processes. -Coordinate internal and external project team members, including contractors. -Develop and implement standards and best practices for electrical and controls systems. -Design and program electrical systems, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and servo systems. -Establish and maintain standards for electrical and controls systems across facilities. -Implement digital and automation solutions, such as AGVs, robotics, and ERP platform integrations. -Provide technical support and training to plant teams, including operators and engineers. -Collaborate with plant teams to identify and prioritize operational goals. -Partner with Corporate Plant Engineering and plant-based engineers to deliver turnkey project implementations. -Identify opportunities to improve safety, product quality, and operational efficiency. -Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization. -Develop and review power distribution systems and network configurations for plant process networks. -Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards. -Drives the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce. -Integrate digital tools and technologies into manufacturing processes. -Support Knauf’s digital manufacturing initiatives by implementing systems for data-driven decision-making.

What You Bring

-Preferred: Experience with Ignition platforms (SCADA and Historian). -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or 10 years of related experience. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). -Familiarity with automation technologies, including robotics, AGVs, and ERP system integration. -Travel is required. -Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills. -Minimum of 5 years in electrical engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment. -Proficiency in electrical power/control design and programming. -Proven project management experience, including both small and large-scale initiatives. -Knowledge of Rockwell PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and Ethernet networking. -Experience with Rockwell PLCs and HMIs is required.
