Tasks
-Communicates with field staff, CAD Technicians, and project managers on a daily basis. -Maintains surveying gear and company vehicles. -Collects, processes, reduces, and downloads surveying field data. -Responsible for job specific quality control metrics as defined in the quality manual. -Prepares clear, concise, and accurate field notes and sketches. -Follows FGI Safety Protocols and completes daily Job Safety Assessments (JSA) -Researches and interprets previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records relative to the conducting of field activities.

What You Bring
-Advanced understanding of Metes & Bounds or the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) -Understands traffic control operations based on field activities. -Ability to Travel (approximately 80%) -Proficient with GPS Systems, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors -Advanced understanding of point code driven linework & construction staking -6+ years previous surveying experience -Valid US driver's license & good driving record -Requires lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, climbing, pushing, pulling, hammering, digging, and other physical activities. -Requires the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. -Previous safety training (OSHA, First-Aid, Confined Space) -High School diploma or equivalent -Ability to work in various terrain & weather conditions and recognize safety hazards. -Advanced knowledge of Trimble surveying instruments & data collectors -Advanced understanding of various surveys (topographic mapping, boundary plats, highway plans, roadway stationing, plan & profile, cross sections, horizontal & vertical curves, construction drawings, as-built surveys, and pipeline plans. -AutoCAD C3D and/or Microstation ORD experience -Advanced math skills including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, surveying coordinates, and surveying computations. -Ability to operate in a mentor / mentee Team atmosphere -Requires the ability to safely operate and drive company vehicles. -Surveyor-in-Training (LSI, LSIT, SIT) certification -Ability to operate, check and make basic adjustments to robotic total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors, digital levels, metal detectors, tribrachs and tripods. -Aerial Drone and/or 3D laser scanning experience
