Tasks

Lead market analysis, financial modelling, and strategic planning to optimize revenue, reduce costs, and ensure compliance across a portfolio of BESS assets. Translate market and regulatory insights into actionable strategies, enabling cross-functional teams to deliver on operational and commercial goals while representing the company in industry forums and regulatory processes. -Track policy changes, pilot programs, and DER integration rules to inform market entry or participation strategies. -Monitor energy market structures, tariffs, programs, and regulations; forecast impacts and adjust portfolio strategies accordingly. -Mentor analysts in market research, modeling, and contract interpretation. -Manage external relationships with market participants, agents, and vendors to align with strategic priorities. -Represent the company in industry associations, regulatory consultations, and speaking engagements to influence frameworks that create value. -Create and manage dashboards tracking revenue, costs, and performance metrics; oversee accurate and timely customer invoicing in line with contractual terms. -Build and maintain complex financial and operational models to forecast P&Ls, assess asset performance, and guide investment decisions. -Drive enhancements in analytical methodologies, tools, and processes. -Provide underwriting inputs and commercial analysis to support sales, BD, and product teams. -Partner with Operations, Finance, Engineering, Product, and BD to align strategies and resolve operational bottlenecks. -Develop and maintain a clear market roadmap across key ISOs, identifying current and emerging value opportunities. -Lead ad hoc projects that span operational, commercial, and regulatory domains.

What You Bring

-Proven track record in building financial models, interpreting market rules, and translating complex regulations into business decisions. -Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences, from technical teams to executive leadership. -Familiarity with BESS project structures and commercial/regulatory considerations. -Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, or related field; advanced degree/MBA preferred. -Willingness to travel up to 5% for meetings and events. -Strong understanding of wholesale markets, capacity programs, tariffs, and storage economics in at least two North American markets. -Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor staff, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. -5–10 years’ experience in energy markets, strategy, or commercial roles within DER, storage, or renewables. -Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, MATLAB).
