The Role
Overview
Manage carrier selection & transportation planning via TMS.

Tasks
-Implement and maintain company policy and standard operating procedures -Responsible for performing specific activities under direct supervision -Implement the day-to-day transportation plan -Utilize the corporate TMS for carrier selection on outbound and inbound shipments from multiple plant locations across all business units -Monitor service level requirements and equipment commitments with motor carriers -Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports -Upon request from the procurement team, prepare any data for the negotiation of carrier services and equipment within assigned planning markets -Report cost reduction opportunities within assigned planning markets -Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems -As directed, study possible savings and service improvements through use of new and/or improved carrier equipment, methods, and procedures -Maintain good and ethical relationships with carrier/association contacts -Determine optimal mode between truckload, LTL and intermodal based on delivery requirements -Monitor carrier service level performance and meet internal reporting requirements

What You Bring
-Basic knowledge of SAP or ERP systems is preferred -Minimum of 0 to 2 years of work experience -Limited discretion within well established guidelines to include order of work tasks -Solid customer service skills -Working knowledge and experience in motor carrier transportation preferred -Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook -Knowledge of a Transportation Management System preferred -Minimal travel required (0 - 5 days per year) -Bachelor's degree preferred with o to 2 years of experience; 4 + years of work experience in lieu of degree -Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills -Ability to work independently and in a team environment
