Tasks

Supporting and embedding the Clients behavioural safety programme is a key element with compliance and governance to all Safe systems of work system, processes and procedure within client and PD&MS Management systems. Experience in Site construction and execution and/or offshore HSE projects or operations is required due to the scopes of work being undertaken. This is a great opportunity within a relatively new contract, working in a major project related environment Develop contract wide culture whereby contributors will execute the project with no harm to people or the environment. To ensure that all contract uncertainties are systematically identified, assessed, and proactively managed in order to maximise opportunities whilst managing possible threats. Build a culture of personal accountability where safe behaviours are re-enforced and at-risk behaviours are challenged. -Attend Step change events as appropriate -Liaise with clients, suppliers/subcontractors for the transmission of HSE information and advice, where appropriate, to ensure that they are made aware of the PD&MS Group policy towards HSE -Regular Interfacing / liaising with Clients, subcontractors and vendors -Promote and monitor compliance to the Company Integrated Management System -Ensure direct report performance reviews are carried out within the required timescales (where applicable) -Reporting to management on the status and performance, environmental, health and safety systems -Produce HSE performance reports as required -Undertake Internal Audits -Assist when required with, Interfacing / liaising with formal certification body of Company (LRQA) and with those of Clients, as applicable -Comply at all times with Company’s Environmental, Quality and Health and Safety at Work Act Policies -Liaise with all PD&MS Group staff both onshore and offshore and provide advice, guidance and support, on all aspects and matters concerning HSE -Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example -Have responsibility for ensuring correct document storage as per the Company defined processes. -Undertake periodic reviews of environmental, health and safety systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and requirements and/or legislative requirements -Develop new HSE procedures for management of quality assurance, health and safety and environmental management systems or review in line with project change requirements -Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner -Development, design and delivery of internal HSE workshops -Offshore mobilisation work when required to support HSE function -Assist with HSE data for Management Review Meetings -Promote an enthusiastic HSE culture that delivers positive commitment and engages all personnel in continuous HSE performance improvement -Delivery of comprehensive Company HSE Inductions, ensuring induction is valid and up to date with Client information and Industry standards -Oversee and undertake administration of environmental and health and safety systems ensuring details remain up to date -Procedure and document preparation and implementation -Undertake tender review and preparation of documentation in a timely and accurate manner -Promote the external image of the Company through effective HSE management -Assist Projects with coordination and return of client required HSE Information -Ensure unsafe activities are challenged -Compilation of safety statistics -Assist the Company in understanding legislative requirements and providing clear and concise advice on meeting these requirements -Contribute towards developing annual HSE Objectives for Contracts. Monitor and report on the implementation and effectiveness -Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example -Provide assistance and advice to Contract Managers on all aspects related to HSE -Participate in Incident investigations, leading as necessary, ensuring that methods of investigation and reporting appropriate to the incident are utilised. Ensure that lessons are established and learned and shared with all stakeholders -Provide positive HSE leadership for all contracts on HSE issues and promote the adoption of HSE best practices and industry standards -Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements in relation to HSE to appropriate stakeholders -Responsible for assisting with maintenance of internal and external audit programmes and for issue, control and close out of NCRs -Provide HSE support to the Projects / Contracts Management Team to ensure HSE compliance -Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of environmental, and health and safety records, including Company KPIs

What You Bring

PD&MS Group require a site based HSE Advisor to support the project management team (PMT) in all aspects of HSE. This position will be primarily based at Grangemouth with the occasional offshore site visit as and when required to support critical offshore operations. We are looking for an experienced individual to drive HSE excellence and build on a strong and lasting Safety Culture. -Experience in managing and developing others -Exposure to QHSE Management Systems in line ISO/TS29001 and PED97/23/EC (preferred) -NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent -Educated to standard grade level or equivalent, with a pass in Maths & English -Understanding of contractual, commercial and cost issues -Internal Auditor (IRCA) Certificate to one of the recognised standards -Demonstrable experience of training of others in HSE best practice -Demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining environmental, quality assurance and health and safety systems -Experience of QHSE Management Systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 or equivalent -Demonstrable experience of working within, and contributing towards, a certified Management System -Competent in the use of MS Office Applications -Demonstrable experience of Risk Management and Incident Investigation -Membership, or working towards membership, of a role appropriate recognised professional body(preferred) -Excellent written and spoken English -Previous experience in a similar role -Demonstrable experience of delivering a safe operation in the work environment -Adherence to the company integrated management system -Demonstrable experience in conducting Audits and Investigations -Knowledge of QHSE Legislation, Codes and Standards -Adherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems -Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
