The Role

Overview

Construct, inspect, and dismantle scaffolding while ensuring safety compliance.

Tasks

-Determines type of scaffold needed. -Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so. -Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure. -Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material. -Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding. -Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability. -Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding. -Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required. -Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards. -Must be able to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrumentation devices to ensure specified operating performance using hand tools, testing and calibrating instruments and equipment and precision measuring instruments. -Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling. -Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.

What You Bring

-Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time.
