The Role

Overview

Design and oversee fire protection systems for industrial/commercial projects.

Tasks

-Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate fire safety into building plans. -Participate in fire investigations and forensic engineering when needed. -Support construction phases through site inspections, submittal reviews, and commissioning. -Design and specify fire protection systems: sprinklers, alarms, clean agents, smoke control. -Prepare technical reports and code compliance documentation. -Conduct fire hazard analyses and risk assessments. -Perform hydraulic calculations and fire modeling to support design. -Ensure compliance with NFPA, ICC, FM Global, and local codes. -Travel to project sites for inspections and meetings.

All candidates must be able to pass pre-employment drug screens and background checks to be considered eligible for hire -Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. -Comfortable working in industrial/commercial settings, including elevated platforms and confined spaces. -Proficiency in Revit and fire modeling tools (e.g., FDS). -5–10 years of experience in fire protection design and consulting. -Thrive in both independent and collaborative work environments. -Strong knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 13, 72, 101). -Excellent communication and project management skills. -PE license in Fire Protection (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
