The Role
Overview
Develop and lead onshore connection policy and regulatory strategy for Ireland's power grid.

Tasks
-Working with team leadership on developing and leading new policies including representing the business at different levels internally and externally. -Build an effective and trusted relationship with the regulator, managing and delivering regulatory requirements in a timely manner. -Research in relation to regulatory approaches elsewhere and their applicability to the EirGrid group of businesses. -Act as regulation lead for specific regulatory and commercial deliverables including as point of contact with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities in respect of same. -Formulating positions on a range of regulatory policy issues (technical, commercial and/or financial) in line with corporate strategy and requiring cross-company co-ordination, and leading public consultations where required. -Leading cross functional company responses to regulatory consultations to influence agreed strategic outcomes. -Support delivery of charging information for strategic customers connecting to the power system. -Support strategic regulatory projects particularly in areas of national importance such as security of supply, interconnection, and others. -Provide regulatory support to other areas of the business in respect of relevant regulatory issues. -Provision of quality regulatory policy insights and input for the business.

What You Bring
-Demonstrated flexible working approach with ability to prioritise a wide range of demands and activities whilst maintaining a professional and positive focus. -Knowledge of and experience of working in a regulated utility/ regulator is desirable. -High level of attention to detail and pride in one’s own work. -Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities, coupled with the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information. -A degree or other recognised qualification in business, economics, engineering, or a closely related discipline. -Ability to draft and present documentation in a rational, evidence-based, clear and concise manner. -Excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing. -Ability to guide, persuade and influence others on regulatory matters. -Experience of researching/drafting policy papers independently and as part of a team for publication. -Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role, in a multidisciplinary environment. -Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide work under minimal supervision.
