Overview

Manage vendor relations, contracts, RFPs, pricing and procurement for building projects.

Tasks

-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Develop a thorough understanding of Building RFPs and scopes of work in collaboration with the Industrial Buildings Group. -Cultivate relationships with key vendors, including suppliers and subcontractors for building GC work and individual trades work. -Organize Lunch & Learn opportunities for the Building procurement, estimating, and engineering teams. -Participate in project estimate meetings. -Set up market baskets and work with 1Estimating and the Industrial Buildings Group to maintain historical pricing. -Handle bidder clarifications and addendums. -Review and evaluate proposals and bid forms. -Collaborate with the Industrial Buildings Group Subcontract Management team to identify and address contract gaps. -Provide feedback to bidders when estimates are unsuccessful. -Establish and maintain relationships with 1Estimating personnel and the Industrial Buildings Group (IBG). -Identify and develop regional knowledge of subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining comprehensive documentation. -Populate and manage QCSs, participate in applicable QCS reviews, and oversee the commercial/procurement aspects of QCS sign-offs. -Manage the process of issuing RFPs, including bid lists, schedules, and RFP content. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Develop and maintain a vendor database/AVL specific to building projects. -Participate in and help shape the decision-making process for RFP strategies, ensuring consistency from estimating to execution. -Develop and strengthen internal relationships between the Kiewit Building Group and Kiewit Supply Network. -Work with 1Estimating and the Industrial Buildings Group to update and maintain QCS documents. -Stay informed about wins and losses. -Gain an understanding of different building execution approaches within Kiewit markets, both during estimates and production. -Contribute to the development of Scope of Work Checklists for buildings. -Participate in Category Management initiatives within KSN for Buildings. -Assist the Procurement production team for all winning projects and those moving through buy-out. -Stay informed on industry trends and assist with cost escalation models for building-related procurement packages.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or related field. -Proficiency in analyzing pricing trends and offering value engineering solutions. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Understand cost drivers and offer value engineering and cost savings/avoidance options. -Understand KSN contract templates, particularly the Subcontract, and its impact on building scope of work. -Regular, reliable attendance -Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related role, preferably within the construction or building industry. -Strong understanding of building execution approaches and contract management. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships. -Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail.
