The Role

Overview

Coordinate dry utility, ISP, and fire protection designs during preconstruction.

Tasks

-Ensure timely permanent power readiness (drawing approvals, permits, long lead item procurement etc.) -Monitor integration of fire protection needs within architectural and MEP drawings. -Attend coordination calls and document action items for consultant teams. -Track power design approvals and identify missing information in utility applications. -Coordinate utility and low voltage design redlines into drawing sets and BIM models. -Support tracking of consultant deliverables and meeting schedules. -Maintain a log of provider contacts, submittals, and service agreements. -Assist in onboarding dry utility and fire protection consultants during early design phases. -Track plan submittals and follow-up with consultants to close open comments from fire departments. -Maintain an up-to-date directory of consultant contacts and AHJ representatives. -Coordinate with local Utility Provider and on-site construction teams to coordinate any issues as they may arise. -Support the documentation of permanent power design requirements. -Assist in collecting ISP design inputs (conduits, room sizes, rack layouts). -Assist with routing and access planning for fire risers, sprinkler rooms, and hydrants. -Help schedule and prepare materials for utility coordination meetings with AHJs. -Communicate installation timelines and handoff needs to field teams.

What You Bring

-Strong organizational and communication skills. -Familiarity with utility routing, service entry requirements, and MEP documentation. Basic understanding of permitting and municipal utility processes. -2–5 years in utility coordination, MEP design support, or field construction administration. -Experience managing consultants, contracts, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Utility Infrastructure, or Construction Management or other related fields. -Strong leadership and organizational management capabilities. -Excellent stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills. -Strategic thinker with ability to forecast risks and align teams toward delivery milestones.
