Tasks

-Collect, analyze, and present data regarding product, material, and process quality to management teams; identify trends, and recommend solutions -Develop a Technical Services career path and milestones for employees to continue developing -Provide mentoring, coaching, training, and support for the development of the Technical Services team, Laboratory, and the Construction group within the organization -Act as a liaison with federal, state, and local agencies on behalf of the company for matters related to quality -complete any part of the application process -access or use the online application process and need an alternative method for applying -Work with COLAS National Technical Services Team to develop a Culture of Quality through employee development, training, and monitoring metrics -Act as a subject matter expert regarding quality control specifications and principles in the laboratory and field -Ensure all technical services operations and activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agency guidance, and compliance standards -Engage in project work and special assignments in support of organizational goals and initiatives -Support, promote, and practice the Company’s core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies -Coordinate the use of external laboratories and third parties involved in testing and quality control compliance -Collaborate with cross-functional/regional teams to establish and maintain quality and reliability standards based on product, engineering, and customer requirements; develop and implement measures to improve methods that support safety, service, quality, and performance -Ensure that the Technical Services Team maintains all the necessary training certifications and the permits to satisfy State, Local, and Federal testing requirements, including nuclear material -Develop and implement quality initiatives to support continuous improvement, building a Culture of Quality -Establish organizational priorities in support of operations, cost control, and waste reduction, including effective utilization of resources related to the quality control function

What You Bring

-Computer skills using a range of programs and applications, including MS Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), database/spreadsheet programs, and mobile apps -ACI and DOT testing certifications; advanced certifications preferred -8+ years of technical quality control experience and/or equivalent combination of training and experience required -Knowledge of AASHTO, FAA, FHWA, and ASTM testing methods -Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (quality management, engineering, business, etc.) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred -Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a clean driving record required -Expert knowledge of applicable material testing standards and specifications governed by federal, state, and local testing agencies, including, but not limited to, DOT, ASTM, and AASHTO standards -3+ years of experience leading and developing people -Solid business and financial foresight -Ability to present and train to groups of employees -Self-directed and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance -5+ years of demonstrated ability in quality control testing of aggregates and asphalt preferred -Basic understanding of aggregates, hot mix, ready-mix, and asphalt liquid operations -Ability to effectively lead and manage change, and collaborate with others at all levels within the organization -Ability to collect and analyze information and recommend solutions for improvement -Demonstrated understanding of construction processes and asphalt materials production
