Tasks

Represent UDG in a professional manner with clients, partners, and the broader community Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented studio culture Manage coordination among consultants, contractors, and internal design teams Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design strategy sessions Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with a focus on technical excellence and creative solutions Lead multiple projects from design through construction, ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, and accessibility standards Review and redline drawings and specifications for completeness and constructability Reporting directly to the Principal Architects, this role will serve as both a design innovator and operational anchor, advancing UDG’s sustainability mission while contributing to the firm’s long-term growth.

What You Bring

Proficiency in Revit (BIM) and BIM Collaborate Pro required Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation experience Registered Architect Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office 365 Familiarity with Baltimore/Maryland permitting and regulatory processes a plus Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited university Urban Design Group (UDG) is seeking a motivated and technically strong Registered Architect to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects, mentoring emerging designers, and collaborating across disciplines. LEED AP accreditation preferred Strong technical understanding of construction detailing, documentation, and code compliance Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States Ability to manage multiple priorities, teams, and project deadlines simultaneously Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in architecture, with a focus on commercial, adaptive reuse, or mixed-use projects preferred Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout all project phases Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
