The Role

Overview

Perform highway maintenance tasks across NE network, including drainage, signage, and winter work.

Tasks

-Drive a range of vehicles in support of the delivery of the scope of works, often for long distances or durations as required. -To work safely, observing all protocols and requirements to assure your safety, that of your team and the road users at all times. -Grass cutting, gully emptying and routine tidying of depots. -To update and complete all works electronically as required and on specified systems of work.

What You Bring

-CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. -Small element of traffic management where competencies and training permit. -A team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude -Working on a high speed road network is desirable, but not essential. -Skills or experience of undertaking a range of minor works, landscaping works and maintenance activities desirable but not essential. -Minor surfacing -Essential: team player, good communication skills and confident speaking to the public and wider team, ability to work at nights, weekends and unsociable hours as required with an on call requirement. -Available to work on a shift or rota pattern as required that will include night time and weekend working to assure essential services are maintained. This includes an on-call requirement. -Be flexible and versatile conducting or supporting the delivery of various maintenance works across the motorway and trunk roads of the north-east, such as but not limited to: -Class 2 HGV License; first aid at work.
