Tasks

-Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal. -Organizational Capability Building: Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills. -Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate. -Assist contract administrator with issuance of all site instructions, directions and correspondence -Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines. -Work outdoors throughout the year in all weather conditions -Full-time site inspections/contract administration assistance on water and wastewater projects -Implementing and monitoring inspection procedures in accordance with professional and corporate guidelines, including quality control -Primary liaison with Plant & Owner staff on general contract issues and coordination of works -Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate. -Assist with reporting on, and negotiate resolutions to construction issues with contractor and owner representatives. -Construction Management: Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of an area of a construction project. Involves using existing systems and protocols. -Providing feedback and work with design engineers, contractor and owner to resolve field issues -Working with construction team to ensure construction safety procedures are being followed -External Communications: Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice. -Mentoring of junior and intermediate staff -Review of monthly payment draws, and review of payment related administrative procedures -Assist contract administrator and engineering team with review of shop drawings -Assisting with conducting site meetings and write site meeting minute reports -Leadership and Direction: Explain the local action plan, to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission, and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals. -Quality Assurance: Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective. -Keeping post construction records and provides progress reports to construction teams

What You Bring

-Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license -Previous training and experience in confined space entry and/or Working at Heights training is an asset -Able to work extended hours as project requires -Experience in design of sewer & water main work is an asset -Completing required training including but not limited to Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights -Sound judgment and ability to work independently and take initiative -Minimum 5-10 years' experience, in water and/or wastewater treatment plant construction projects. -Strong teamwork ability with strong written and oral communication skills -Ability to travel to, and reside locally (if necessary), as required for projects -Certification as a Certified Inspector of Sediment & Erosion Control (CISEC) is an asset -CET designation, or PEO EIT or P.Eng. designation, or equivalent training and experience -AutoCAD, MS Project, and Primavera P6 experience is an asset
