Tasks
Responsible for the site engineering delivery function, and to deputise for the Site Agent/Sub-Agent when required. The Senior Engineer may also be requested to act as Site Manager on small or short duration projects (including pre-construction site investigation/survey activities and enabling works). By utilising the specialist skills of each business unit within VolkerWessels UK, VolkerStevin are able to ensure our staff provide unrivalled resources and expertise to our clients. -Agree programme of works with site management and ensure early action to avoid delay and minimise problems -Support the planning of the works to ensure awareness of when setting-out control is required. -Set-out in advance so that time is available to carry out any secondary checks. -Ensure engineering team members have the correct training and understanding of HSE and quality management requirements -Provide input to health & safety plan, risk assessments, method statements and task briefings. -Responsible for production & issue of Weekly Progress Reports. -Ensure that accurate setting-out and control is provided: Establish accurate and clear setting-out on the ground.Communicate clearly to the subcontract personnel operatives what the setting-out is and how it should be used.Set-out in advance so that time is available to carry out any secondary checks.Maintain the long-term setting out.Maintain project stations.Instrument calibration and testingMaintain accurate wastage reports and keep the Agent, Sub Agent, Project Manager and commercial team informed of findings. -Maintain the long-term setting out. -Identify information requirements in good time to meet plan. -Management of supply chain during construction: progress review / co-ordination / 360̊ degree review and feedback. -Ensure the weekly / fortnightly / short term construction programmes are fully understood and brief the engineers on their relevant section of works. Ensure the Engineers do likewise. -Responsible for production / review / monitoring of RAMS / ITP's to ensure compliance. -Keep accurate records of events affecting the programme or disrupting the work (risk events, delays, errors, etc.). Communicate on a timely basis any such event to the Agent/Sub-Agent and a member of the commercial team. -Responsible for production of as-built documentation from site. -Ensure that IFC drawings are available and checked at least two weeks prior to implementation. -Communicate clearly to the subcontract personnel operatives what the setting-out is and how it should be used. -SHE performance at site level to support Site Agent. -Responsible for materials forecast / procurement and reconciliation. -Engage in Safety Ripple programme -Construction: Support the planning of the works to ensure awareness of when setting-out control is required.Implement Inspection & Test Plans and monitor.Identify information requirements in good time to meet plan.Keep accurate records of as-built dates in diaries and on construction drawings.
