The Role

Overview

General labor, equipment maintenance and loading duties at a 24/7 plant

Tasks

-Preventive maintenance on equipment (greasing, oil checks etc.) -Performs housekeeping duties and cleans around conveyors and plant equipment on a daily basis. -Follows directions and completes tasks in a timely manner. -Performs general labor tasks at work site including shoveling sand. -May operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner ensuring maximum equipment health and productivity. -Assists with railcar movement to assist with loading and unloading of incoming product. -Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and basic maintenance on equipment as needed.

What You Bring

-Ability to use basic hand and power tools. -Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays. The plant has 24 hour/7day operation. -Works safely, adheres to health and safety rules and uses appropriate PPE. -Some background in operating heavy equipment helpful. -Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind) for extended periods of time. -Must be able to communicate effectively, using both written and spoken forms of communication. -Has a strong understanding of the work they are assigned to and requires minimal supervision on how to perform work correctly. -Must be a self-starter and be able to work with close supervision. -Basic operating knowledge of construction equipment, preferred. -Must be able to read and be proficient with English and simple math. -Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, hard hat and steel toe boots must be always worn. Hearing, respiratory and/or fall protection equipment must be worn when required. -Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and be at least 18 years of age. -Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity necessary 50 pounds of weight from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs./day) -Must have a collaborative attitude and willingness to perform any work that is required. -Basic computer skills helpful.
