Tasks

-Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and production staff, sharing technical expertise and promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence. -Assembly, inspection, calibration, and testing of electronic equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. -Leading fault investigations on returned equipment, performing root cause analysis, preparing test plans and reports, and recommending design or process improvements. -Documenting processes and results, including test reports, inspection records, and investigation summaries.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of the railway industry and an understanding of railway infrastructure -HNC/HND or equivalent qualification or demonstrate equivalent experience (Level 4 / 5) -Comfortable working in a production-focused environment with occasional involvement in design and development. -Broad technical engineering experience -Hands-on experience with electronics assembly and testing, including PCBAs, soldering, and use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators. -Strong background in fault diagnosis and root cause analysis of electronic systems. -Sound knowledge of relevant policies and standards -Management or supervisory experience -Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and communicate findings effectively. -An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques -Chartered status, or actively working towards Professional Registration -Substantial experience in a relevant engineering area -Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of experience (Level 6)
