Tasks

-providing expert advice to senior leaders, including the Chief Engineer and Head of Engineering and Technical Services -representing the Council in legal proceedings related to structural engineering matters -coaching, motivating and developing your team to deliver exceptional customer service and advanced engineering competencies -overseeing the structural engineering input into the building consent process, managing technical risks, and promoting structural engineering excellence across the Council -Champion resilience, safety and innovation in the built environment -Lead structural engineering excellence across Auckland’s most high profile projects

What You Bring

-a strong background in design, peer review, seismic assessments and construction monitoring across residential, commercial and industrial projects -expertise in evaluating complex building consent applications and providing high-quality structural engineering advice -a deep understanding of New Zealand’s building legislation, including the Building Act, Building Code, Health and Safety at Work Act (2015), and relevant engineering standards and codes of practice -p roficiency in relevant structural engineering software packages -excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
