The Role

Overview

Inspect and rate bridges, lead teams, ensure compliance with FDOT/Federal standards.

Tasks

-Collaborate with field inspection teams to develop inspection schedules, prioritize urgent inspections, and allocate resources efficiently -Provide guidance and training to bridge inspection team members, including junior inspectors and technicians -Lead teams of Professional Engineers, Engineers-In-Training, and Technicians inspecting bridges of all sizes across Florida with opportunities for project work and travel across the country -Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FDOT and federal inspection protocols and ensure compliance with all regulations

What You Bring

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and/or MicroStation required -Engineer Intern registration required. Professional Engineer preferred -Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering program -AASHTOWare, BrM or other Bridge Inspection & Design/Rating software experience is preferred -NHI/FHWA Bridge Inspection Courses and/or SPRAT Certification desired -2+ years of bridge inspection engineering experience -Ability to perform design calculations and load rating of existing bridges -Good communication skills and ability to work with clients in either the public or private sector -A valid driver's license with acceptable driving history and ability to travel on project related tasks in the region and nationwide -Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. of gear and must be capable of high levels of physical exertion
