The Role

Overview

Manages purchasing operations, negotiates vendor contracts, oversees department.

Tasks

-Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and job numbers. -Places orders with vendors for materials as needed. -Manages administration of department. -Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period. -Establishes account/credit and terms. -Coordinates and assists with accounts payable to resolve problems with invoices/POs to maintain a current pay status with vendors. -Analysis budgets through-out projects. -Works closely with Operations Department to ensure proper materials arrived, and overcome delivery, availability, design, and price obstacles. -Participates in the pre-job planning process with Sales and Operations in all thing’s material related. -Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate. -Negotiates with vendors for good and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee. -Establishes Purchasing Policies and ensure compliance. -Meets with and reports to Executive Management and Corporate personnel regarding branch purchasing statistics and initiatives.

What You Bring

-Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 (Outlook, Word, Excel) -Excellent verbal and written communications skills. -Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Skills & experience that are necessary as a Purchasing Manager will include, but not limited to:
