Overview

Senior QA/QC Mechanical Engineer handling quality and inspection for oil & gas projects in Sharjah.

Tasks

-Promotion of both the WOOD & Client Core values -Ensure the maintenance, documentation, and deployment of the project management system -Plan and Participate in External/internal projects and vendors/ suppliers audits -Ensure the deployment of a robust criticality assessment process throughout projects -Assist Lead QA/QC for evaluation of materials suppliers, manufacturers, fabricators, and NDE providers -Review and provide input into technical bid evaluations -Capture client feedback and monitor resulting improvement actions -Regular quality reporting as required -Control all Quality documentation during & upon completion of the Project -Ensure the closure of Quality requirements for project closeout -Review inspection outputs and highlight areas of concern -Assign competent, qualified, and appropriately experienced inspectors to inspection assignments -Review and approve necessary construction contractors, vendors, and suppliers’ documentation including ITPs and procedures, as required -Support in carrying out root cause analysis of project nonconformities -Review and approve 3rd party inspection invoices -Regular reporting of inspection status -Maintain & implement Project Quality Plans, Quality Strategies, and Objectives -Prepare inspection packages for inspectors -Report inspection queries, deficiencies & punch list items -Provide input to contract quality risk registers -Establish appropriate call-off arrangements with 3rd party inspection agencies -Report non-conformances identified by inspectors -Support the review of vendor mechanical catalogues & manufacturing records books as required -Ensure upload of inspection reports and releases to document management system -Liaise with the Client Quality Representative as appropriate -Verify the inspection level of products/materials -Facilitate the recall, quarantine, and replacement of defective products/materials -Conduct site quality leadership surveillance visits, as required -Empower others to make decisions within established parameters -Support Lead QA/QC for corrective actions by approving new actions and verifying action closure, if required. -Ensure the closure of inspection requirements for project closeout -Support in reviewing project technical queries and specification deviation requests -Ensure implementation of risk-based audit programs -Manage and raise vendors’ inspection requests and maintain inspection assignment register -Provide support to Lead for quality estimates for QA/QC project deliverables and inspection of procurement packages. -Coordinate vendors/suppliers’ product/material inspection activities

What You Bring

-Painting Inspector certification – NACE Level II or BGAS -NDE Level II qualification -Exposure to IRAQ Contracts desirably but not mandatory -Welding inspector certification preferably CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or equivalent -Analytical, Problems Solving skills and Systematic thinking -Good planning and organizational skills -Good level of communication skills in both written and spoken format -Quality input to project lessons learned -Minimum 10+ years of Oil and Gas experience -Meaningful and interesting projects Delivered to high profile clients and complex projects in Iraq -IRCA Certified Lead Auditor -ISO 9001-2015 -Previous Experience in Procurement support activities in EPC/PMC projects -Degree in Engineering (Mechanical background) -Ability to work within multi-cultural workforces and environments -Proficient in Microsoft Office -Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills -Excellent interpersonal skills and team player -Participation in the KOM & PIM on post orders -Analytical, problem solver and systematic thinker -Middle East experience in Post order Vendor packages, Major packages, Pressure Vessels, API 610 Pumps, Rotary Packages, Control Valves, Skid Packages, Duplex materials is mandatory -Excellent planner and organizer
