The Role

Overview

Purchases and manages inventory, vendor relations, and pricing for an electrical distributor.

Tasks

-Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability -Purchase products as well as prepare and issue purchase and change orders. -Complete product returns to vendors. -Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to enhance collaboration, communication, and trust, resulting in improved service levels. -Collaborate with primary team members and cross functional teams to implement process improvements and adopt best practices. -Reconcile vendor invoices and credits. -Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and returns with vendors to achieve cost savings and provide the most favorable business outcomes possible. -Partner with the Pricing department to assure price alignment. -Monitor and approve the transfer of material between the warehouse locations to balance stock, replenish inventory, or fill backorders. -Partner with the Product Management team to align on inventory needs. -Monitor inventory reports, demand, history, and cycle time to maintain proper inventory levels needed to achieve the necessary unit turns. -Partner with the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) to ensure shipment quality.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of and the ability to use Microsoft office products including Excel, Outlook and Word -Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field -2-5 years of experience working in supply chain -Experience with six sigma or lean processes -Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field -2-5 years of experience working cross functionally with other departments -5+ years of experience working as a Buyer or related function -Experience working in distribution and/or the electrical industry -2-5 years of customer service experience
