The Role
Overview
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GE LM6000 turbines across multiple NY sites.

Tasks
-Fully support and actively participate in NAES Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs. -Understand and comply with assigned regulatory tasks and facility safety standards. -When assigned to the control room, monitor plant systems continuously and ensure proper operation. -Overhaul and repair plant equipment such as turbines, generators, pumps, fans, motors, gas compressors, and water treatment systems as needed, record actions on Work Order forms. -During maintenance and overhaul periods, report work progress as needed, even when not on shift. -Review logs and records periodically to confirm effective lockout/tagout procedures and administrative systems. -Maintain current training in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, GPi Learn, and other NAES-offered modules and courses. -Support field technicians in executing maintenance plans by assisting with Lockout/Tagout, equipment ID, troubleshooting, or work requests. -Clear alarms and upset conditions by taking corrective actions. Execute shutdown/start-up procedures, ensuring safe, efficient operations within environmental regulations. -Observe, record, and evaluate system conditions, and maintain and review logs to keep management informed of unusual events. -Handle hazardous materials and waste and perform spill prevention and control duties as directed by management, in line with applicable regulations. Orientation, annual classroom, and on-the-job training ensure regulatory compliance. -Read P&ID diagrams and use operating procedures and technical manuals to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to ensure it operates within specified ranges. -Actively help maintain operating manuals, technical references, diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records. -Operate from known procedures with general direction and minimal supervision, with authority to control operations safely and in compliance with permits. -Read meters, gauges, or monitor automatic devices to record data such as equipment operating temperatures, vibrations, hours, pressure, and fluid levels to verify conditions. -When at a plant site, the CT Operator/Technician may be required to start up, operate, and shut down combustion turbine(s) and auxiliary equipment as needed.

What You Bring
-Previous experience in the power plant industry, particularly in a similar role or with exposure to power generation processes and equipment, is highly desirable. -Strong technical background and knowledge of combustion turbines, auxiliary equipment, and plant systems. -An Associate degree in Power Plant Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Process Technology, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, equivalent technical training in industrial maintenance or instrumentation and control is beneficial, though not required. Relevant industry or military experience may be considered in lieu of education. -Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times. -Understanding and compliance with regulatory procedures and facility safety standards, including handling hazardous materials and wastes, spill prevention, and lockout/tagout procedures. -Be prepared to work shifts, overtime, or irregular hours to support reliable plant operations. -Proficiency in comprehending P&ID diagrams and technical manuals, adeptly maintaining and troubleshooting facility equipment, and ensuring operational compliance within specified parameters. -Demonstrate full support for the Maximo CMMS and commitment to the facility’s maintenance philosophy. -Ability to perform maintenance and overhaul of plant equipment, demonstrating proficiency in operating and maintaining this equipment. -Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills is required. -Experience in starting up, operating, and shutting down combustion turbines, as well as proficiency in reading meters, gauges, and monitoring devices. -Experience with General Electric LM6000 combustion turbines is desirable.
