Overview
Design, manage, and oversee land development projects as an engineer.

Tasks
-Supervising and mentoring junior staff across a range of technical and professional development levels -Serving as a technical expert during liaison with landowners, municipal/agency staff, and other stakeholders -Assist in the preparation and coordination of the project specifications and construction documents. -Performs complex engineering design tasks on assigned projects under supervision of the Project Technical Lead or Project Manager, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and applications to regulatory agencies. -Support proposals, change orders, and project communications. -Assist project manager with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule. -May conduct construction inspection services. -Manage and lead other team members while working on projects; complete tasks and delegate specific project tasks to other team members as appropriate. -Engage in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. -Coordinating with engineers, technical staff and/or team members in various disciplines to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner -Serves as EngineerofRecord. -Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors. -Involved in the approval and permitting process of projects, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel and governing entities. -Prepare contract documents for construction (i.e. engineering drawings and specifications). -Participate in quality assurance and quality review. -Participate in constructability review. -Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including servicing plans, plan and profiles, grading plans, cross sections, diagrams, and details. -Support the civil team in providing services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications. -Work on multiple projects and be responsible for projects of average complexity/size. -Participate in client meetings, value analysis and cost estimating.

What You Bring
-Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university program. -Proficiency with PCSWMM modeling software. -Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential. -Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. -At least 5 years’ experience in land development projects is strongly preferred. -Thorough understanding of standards, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions. -Use of a vehicle and valid driver’s license. -Ability to administer and inspect construction activities. -Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and review agencies. -Excellent time management skills; thorough understanding of task assignments and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources. -Able to work in a team environment -Welldeveloped understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. -Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule. -Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal -Strong understanding of relevant areas of civil engineering design, including gravity and pressure systems, grading and storm water management, roadway design, erosion and sediment control. -Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. -Licensed as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and AutoCAD. -Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
