Technical Lead (React Native / Node.js)

Description

• Own and drive the technical vision, ensuring all work aligns with long-term architecture and product strategy.
• Take the lead on diagnosing and resolving production issues, leveraging tools like Bugsnag and Datadog, and coordinating hotfixes with speed and precision.
• Sitemate builds best in class software products for the built world.
• Continuously improve engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, performance monitoring, and technical documentation.
• Mentor and support engineers on the mobile team through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Lead the development of our two mobile products and their backend services - from architecting new features to improving performance and code quality.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and other Engineering teams to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

• Native mobile experience is a bonus
• Javascript/Typescript experience is preferred.
• Pace - we move very quickly, so you’ll need to be excited to come in and learn extremely fast
• MongoDB & DynamoDB experience is a bonus.
• We have a strong culture based on core values and standard operating procedures, you may need to unlearn a few things from previous experience
• React Native experience is preferred.

• You will have a high degree of autonomy, as the focus is on outcomes and not hours. If you want to block off a few hours to run a personal errand or block off an hour to pick up the kids from school - no worries. No one will be monitoring your time.
• You will have 20 days PTO, as well as paid compassionate & bereavement leave, sick & carer’s leave, and the ability to work from anywhere for a few weeks per year.

• Remuneration: AUD $160,000 - $220,000 pending your experience
