The Role
Overview
Install, test, and repair various industrial piping systems per codes and specs.

Tasks
-May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access -Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed. -Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required -Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment -Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials -Reading isometric drawings, taking measurements, fabricating and installing piping efficiently -Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports -Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required -Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity. -Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints -Maintain working knowledge of various types of pipe and pipe systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued and fused joints -Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications -Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products to secure in position for welding -Operate tools and equipment including: beveling machines, cut-off grinders, pipe threaders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall

What You Bring
-Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position. -Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and Fit for Duty -Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools -May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. -The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl -Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision. -Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment -May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across -Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
