Tasks

-Develops appropriate control systems and procedures to monitor expenses and to ensure that they do not exceed budgeted authorizations. Prepares recommendations to implement controls. Assists in the development of systems and procedures to improve financial and administrative management practices. -Completes special assignments and other duties, as necessary, to support the department’s mission. -Prepares periodic, operating performance reports of daily operating data to include statistical summaries, graphic presentations, and narrative interpretations. Identifies trends and recommends possible methods for improving the warehouse operations, working with other staff as appropriate. Provides management with statistics that are used to determine the level of service being provided, and to determine where updates are required. -Coordinates with various internal offices and other WMATA staff to ensure material procurements are executed in a timely fashion and are consistent with Authority policies and procedures. -Operates Authority’s vehicles as part of daily work assignment in a safe and responsible manner. -Gathers, reviews, and analyze data related to safety issues. Assists Department Safety Coordinator with projects and assignments. -May be required to retrieve parts in and out of assigned warehouses as required, using Maximo, as well as physically pulling parts. -Verification of education and experience (including certifications and licenses) -Review of a current motor vehicle report -Develops administrative controls for the procurement of services, materials, and supplies. Assists in developing procedures for managing inventory levels and expedites procurement actions. -Monitors, reviews, coordinates, and investigates warehouse complaints and commendations; initiates and recommends resolutions as necessary. -Conducts special research as requested. Works variable work schedule, as required -May be required to load or unload parts and materials upon receipt and operate a WMATA vehicle. -Assists in the development and execution of SCM administrative procedures. Participates in hearings, meeting, and conferences as a representative of the Office and conducts follow-up with reports and/or recommendations, as appropriate. Serves as the Office's liaison on matters relating to warehouse service operations. -Conducts research on and prepares responses to internal/external customer complaints and related concerns. -Analyzes current procedures, including those pertaining to incident reporting, property accountability and record-keeping for uniformity. Analyzes alternative strategies and procedures and recommends those which would more effectively and efficiently utilize office resources to maintain operational consistency.

-Bachelor’s Degree Preferred -Medical examination including a drug and alcohol screening (for safety sensitive positions) -Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation, or a related field. -Skills and/or behavioral assessment -Criminal Background Check (a criminal conviction is not an automatic bar to employment) -Four (4) years of experience performing research, analysis, and the execution of a full range of administrative activities, including materials handling, preparation of executive correspondence, budget analysis, and/or organizational standards development -In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a High School diploma or GED and four (4) years' experience performing research, analysis, and the execution of a full range of administrative activities, including materials handling, preparation of executive correspondence, budget analysis, and/or organizational standards development
