*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary. -Responsible for quality and delivery of construction documentation specifications, equipment layouts, HVAC design, plumbing design, and piping design -Develop proposals for engineering projects and construction estimates -Ensure that on-site construction work is carried out according to local regulations and requirements -Research design options and document findings for project lead engineer -Detail portions of projects using schematic or conceptual layouts -Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of quality -Provide conceptual drawings and sketches to incorporate in final drawings by Designers/Drafters -May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment* -May assume the lead engineer's role on assigned projects -Handle routine contract administration -Perform field activities such as observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project area -Specify process equipment including pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, pumps and heat exchangers -Specify material handling equipment including conveyors, pneumatic conveying systems and dust collection -Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices -Prepare and modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and EAD standards -Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria -Interface with Clients, vendors, construction administrators and project team -Time manage and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
EAD Engineering is looking for a seasoned Staff Mechanical Engineer for projects in industrial, processing, institutional and commercial facilities. -6 years HVAC, heat transfer, utility/piping and/or plumbing systems experience strongly preferred -Possess organizational skills -Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals* -Proficient in Microsoft Office -Knowledge of building codes and NFPA standards -Ability to sit and work at computer for an extended period of time -B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution -Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions -Capable and experienced in managing and performing projects in a fast paced environment -Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license -6 years of experience in specifying mechanical equipment for industrial and commercial projects -Self-starter with strong attention to detail -Experience in working with Bioprocess and/or Petrochemical Clients, construction of large industrial plants, or power stations will be advantageous -Able to set priorities and organize work to meet project deadlines and budgets -Proficient with Excel spreadsheets including macros -Travel and/or field experience required -Working Knowledge of AutoCAD -Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, vendors and in-house staff -Licensed Professional Engineer or willing to obtain within 6 months -6 years mechanical design, engineering process plants, and overall facility design experience -Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*
