The Role

Overview

Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pest controls to commercial landscapes.

Tasks

-Occasionally works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions -Properly mix and apply plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various types of application equipment -Perform fertilization, herbicide and pest management treatments on turf using approved spray equipment -Calculate product and carrier quantities -Safe Handling and use of all chemicals

What You Bring

-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions -Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule format -Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk -At least 2 years of commercial pesticide operator experience -Pesticide License issued by the state where employed, preferred -Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance -Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus -Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls -Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook -Ability to read, write and comprehend English -Valid driver license issued by the state where employed -Properly complete required paperwork -Ability to prioritize multiple tasks -Organizational Skills -Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus -Strong sense of customer service and urgency -Effective oral and written communication -Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
